Besides that, the key point to understand here is that although a jumbo loan can still be sold in the secondary market, it cannot be bought and sold by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, the government entities that insure loans. Because of this a potential borrower can expect the interest rate to jump at least 1/4 a percent above the best execution rate, usually more.
